800 Care Homes Contribute
In the summer of 2003 The Royal Society for the Promotion of Health
invited care homes for older people across the southeast of England
to complete a survey of their residents' water consumption. Over 800
homes responded, and a report has now been compiled on the findings
of the survey.
The report can be downloaded here (Word
format 115kb)
What Next?
The Society wishes to build on the results of this survey by inviting
care professionals, nutritionists and others with an interest in this
field to join a working party to draft some guidance notes on hydration
for older people. These notes will be made freely available to care
homes. If you would be prepared to contribute case studies, general
observations, pieces of research, advice or thoughts on this subject
please contact Alastair Sasaki McCapra
