Prevention of falls and injuries in hospitals and care homes

34th International Conference on Global Health

The Global Health Council's 34th Annual Conference is open to up to 2,000 delegates from around the world and takes the theme: 'Partnerships Working Together for Global Health'. 5th European Congress on Tropical Medicine and International Health

Emergency Planning and Response: Policy and Good Practice Update

1st International Conference of the Journal Public Health

The first international conference of Public Health, the Journal of the Royal Institute of Public Health, takes the theme 'Social, Cultural and Economic Determinants of Health: International Perspectives for Global Action' and will bring together international delegates to discuss current knowledge of social, cultural and economic determinants of health. Keynote speakers confirmed for the event include Professor Sir Michael Marmot from University College, London, and Ilona Kickbusch, the Senior Adviser to the Director of the Pan American Health Organisation. 11th Inter Island Public Health Forum
17-19 May 2007, Les Cotils Christian Centre, St Peter Port Guernsey

The Inter Island Public Health Forum is an informal network of health and other professionals working on, or with an interest in, the health and healthcare of islands and other remote communities. The aim of the Forum is 'to share good practice and successful progress in the delivery of high quality public health against the special challenges facing an island or isolated community'. The Forum has a rotating venue, and has previously been held in the Isle of Wight, Jersey, Isle of Man, Isles of Scilly, Guernsey, Gibraltar, the Western Isles (Hebrides) and the Orkneys. Primary Care 2007
10-11 May 2007, National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham
This two-day conference is now Europe's largest primary and community healthcare professionals and will feature 250 exhibitors.  There are 14 separate conference programmes which will cover a broad scope of healthcare categories including general practice, child health, trust management and community pharmacy.  Delegates will have the opportunity at the event to find out about the latest clinical, government and PCT initiatives, update their skills and network with colleagues.  The conference is free of charge to attend for practising healthcare professionals, find out more on the Primary Care 2007 website.

Toward the Prevention of Cancer

This one-day symposium brings together a wide range of cancer experts from the UK and France to discuss cancer prevention and epidemiological factors. Topics that will be addressed include cluster analysis, environmental and lifestyle factors, genetic predispositions to cancer and screening for common cancers. The Jephcott Lecture, which follows the symposium at 6.30pm and is free of charge, takes the title 'Cancer prevention: vaccine-based approaches', and will be presented by Professor Sir Leszek Borysiewicz from Imperial College, London. 15th UKPHA Annual Public Health Forum
28th - 29th March 2007, EICC, Edinburgh, UK

2007's UKPHA Public Health Forum takes place at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre and addresses the theme 'Generation to Generation: Sustainable Directions for Public Health.' Up to 1,000 delegates from across the UK and overseas are expected to attend to discuss and debate key issues such as Health Inequalities, Sustainable Development and Social Marketing.
